About Us

Hi! I'm Jay Snively, the main author of Travel Outer Banks.com. I get a little help with this website from my wife, Ann. We met at a library (Ann's place of work) in 1993 and were married two years later. We took our honeymoon on the Outer Banks - it was Ann's first time here and my ninth. I had already fallen in love with the place years earlier - Ann followed suit.

I work from our home near Dayton, Ohio as a Web publisher. I enjoy photography, nature, Scrabble, building things, and traveling seldom-used back roads. I also like reading and classical music. Ann's work has a slight Outer Banks connection - she is director of the library where Orville Wright was once a board member. She enjoys nature, gardening, and reading.

We like discovering new and interesting things on our travels and spending time on our 30-acre nature preserve in southern Ohio. We have no children, but our two kitties, Myrrh and Tzilla, are treated like members of the family.
