Our experience
A large place great for families of all sizes. Ann had fried soft shell crabs. They were very tasty considering it was an all-you-can-eat special. The side of baked sweet potato was almost like dessert. I had Hawaiian Chicken. I wasn't too sure about the sweet and sour sauce probably only because it was not as I was used to in a sweet and sour sauce. The chicken, served on a bed of wild rice, was tender and well-prepared. For dessert I had the Milky Way Chocolate Cake, which was excellent. Ann's Coconut Bombe Cake was pretty good - she liked the fact that the filling was as much custard as it was cake. Fast, excellent service, too.

Our experience
When we are only one of two parties in a restaurant, we get worried. Such was the case at Jockey's Ribs. The service was very good and quick and the quality of the food made us wonder why more customers weren't there. Ann had crab cakes that she called excellent - lots of crab meat and very little filler. My BBQ baby back ribs were tender and meaty. And the sauce was just right.
The second time we visited, Jockey's Ribs was busier. Our meals were very good and the price was moderate. The only negative I can come up with is the atmosphere - there is something missing. It's just a plain room with windows across the front.

Our experience
Ann had Carolina Bouillabaise - a meal she described as a dream come true. Littleneck clams, shrimp, sea scallops, gamefish, mussels, and calamari in a heaVY plum tomato saffron broth with chunks of carrots, celery, and onions. The flavors of the seasonings were just right - they did not overpower the seafood flavors. I had Yellowfin tuna. Excellently prepared - tender, juicy, and marinated in a pleasantly flavored ginger soy sauce. For dessert, we both had the twelve layer chocolate cake. Perfect! The service was top-notch - it's clear why Owen's is one of the best restaurants on the Outer Banks.

Our experience
Nicely decorated - music and TV not too obnoxiously loud. Ann had soft-shell crab - came with fries and slaw. I had the Chicken Havarti sandwich - came with corn chips and salsa. Both meals were very good. In fact, Ann's meal looked so good, the people at the next table offered to help her eat it. Lots of choices of beer. Fast, friendly service.

Our experience
A very casual place. Not very big but very busy and noisy. I had the grilled chicken dinner. Very flavorful and perfectly done. Ann had clams and steamed vegetables - there were enough vegetables for two meals. She liked it enough to want to come back again.

Our experience
This restaurant is loaded with memorabilia from the elegant ocean liner SS United States, including the tables and chairs and the kidney-shaped bar upstairs. I had the BBQ pork, which was served with mixed vegetables and sweet potato french fries. Everything was very good except the meat could have been a little more tender. Ann had the Fish Trio. One of the trio was salmon in sesame soy ginger sauce. Another was coconut-encrusted mahi-mahi. The third was aioli sauced swordfish. All three were very good. The service was excellent and the view over the sound was quite enticing.
